My 100 Page Event Photography book came in the other day. It features my work stuff and all the cool things that used to happen.

This came in the other day after a pretty long wait, a Sam’s Club’s 6×8″ Photo Book with a windowed cutout in the cover. They have two other cover choices but I opted for the the cheapest option at $6.86 just to see the quality. The first thing you notice is, that’s an awful big […]
I’m still waiting for my other prints, but here’s what came in the other day: a mousepad, an 8×10″ puzzle and 50 free prints. (It seems the drawback for Sam’s Club Free Shipping on all photo print items is that I have to wait a very long time. 7-14 business days is a bit frustrating […]
Sam’s Club (Fujifilm) 8×8″ Lay Flat Photo Book \ Photo: Nikon Df Neutral Settings Hello everyone, I got these in the other day, 8×8″ Lay Flat Premium Photo Books from Sam’s Club. These are essentially smaller more portable versions of the 12×12″ books that I order through Costco. In fact they are printed at the […]
Hello everyone, these came in yesterday, a new product offered by Sam’s club: 4×6″ Lay Flat Mini Photo Books starting at $6.86! I designed a few so I could get a feel of the interface and of course see how the print quality is. Here are some of my initial thoughts. Notes: Very nice sturdy […]
Hi there everyone I decided to try some of Sam’s Club’s photo print items. I’m still using Costco for my big books and other photographic prints, but Sam’s Club actually offers a bunch more items in different sizes and options. So like most things in life, it’s useless to argue one brand over another, if […]
As y’all know from my past posts, I’m a big fan of the 12×12″ Costco photobooks. Since I’m sitting at home all day everyday in 2020 thus far, I’ve occupied my time organizing my various visual work (i.e. digital photo hoarding) ;). I thought it would be nice to make some calendars, just to see […]
Today I made a “fake” Travel Magazine featuring Lao/Thai/Khmer New Year!! Alas, this year there’s nothing of the sort. Oh well, hope everyone is sitting safe in their homes watching some good movies.
My “Fake” Lifestyle/Girl Magazine! Again, every photo except one was by me. All editing and layout by me. Again, just practicing some design while under the countrywide quarantine here in the U.S. (I sure do hope all of the restaurants depicted are still around after all this is over)
Another Design Project I gave myself, make some “fake” Fashion Magazines! Again, all the photos and design by me, shamelessly copying the elegant and simple magazines I thumbed through when I was younger.
I hope everyone is doing okay during the pandemic and quarantine. I renewed the domain name and hosting for my website the other day, and realized I’ve had it for 17 years now. Crazy. In all that time never thought the world would be under these unique circumstances. Anyways, I’ve been giving myself different creative […]
Happy New Year everyone! I know calendar switches don’t magically turn our fortunes or sorrows around, but I do wish the best for everyone out there. Thanks for following along for 10+ years now! I would like to thank FujiFilm for supplying me two 16×20″ metal prints for review. It’s a bit hard to write […]
My thoughts on the affordable 12×12 inch lay flat photo books that you can create/order through Costco! Best part is that they are actually printed at Fufjifilm USA!
Custom (DIY) aluminum DSLR Cage with mounting holes for a Shure SM58A Beta, Rode NTG-1, and a JuicedLink Preamp. All feeding into a D600. In many ways, definitely not as convenient as a camcorder, but it works for me.
DIY Bracket to place a 160 LED light on top of the J1, making for a slick little video camera.
Our DIY Two Way Mirror Box made from Aluminum and acrylic mirror.
Mounting an 85mm on the J1 with simple mechanical adapters. It works! 🙂
Custom Built “DIY” Slider for video.
We built a custom twin / double speedlight bracket for the Mola softlight, or beauty dish.
Thoughts on custom tailoring my various tablets for presenting work, and finally putting a stop to traditional printed portfolio binders. On a DIY aluminum stand.
