Hello everyone, here’s a working list of some of the Lao / Thai / Khmer New Year Festival events this season (in the SE US at least). As of this posting, the dates are correct to the best of my knowledge, but always do your own checking of the various social media sites to see […]
Sabaidee Pii Mai everyone. Here are a few teaser photos from myself and Chalita from Saturday’s pre festivities. Thanks to the young folks and little ones for keeping the dance culture going. Here are my photos as a guest from the wedding on Saturday. Everyone knows it’s impossible for me to show up at any event (work or otherwise) without a camera (or two/three) in hand. Thanks to my “interns” Bounsa and Cecilia for helping out! Hopefully the ice cream at Frosty Caboose was fair compensation. 🙂

Thanks to the city of Dunwoody for hosting a small pop up event that allowed our girls to showcase their talents and passion for their heritage. Dinner was at the new Tum Pok Pok off Buford Hwy near City Farmer’s Market. Pretty […]
Today I made a “fake” Travel Magazine featuring Lao/Thai/Khmer New Year!! Alas, this year there’s nothing of the sort. Oh well, hope everyone is sitting safe in their homes watching some good movies.

A really hot June Sunday at the Thai Temple in Decatur, with a gathering of 100+ monks for a rare ceremony, the consecration of the ubosot, and the burial of the 9 boundary stones. It was a full weekend, with Thai Classical dancing, alms giving, and free food for all prepared by many volunteers from Buddhist temples ranging from Ohio to Florida. Photos and Event Coverage by Boon Vong.
