This came in the other day after a pretty long wait, a Sam’s Club’s 6×8″ Photo Book with a windowed cutout in the cover. They have two other cover choices but I opted for the the cheapest option at $6.86 just to see the quality. The first thing you notice is, that’s an awful big wasteful box for such a small book. I guess that’s why I was charged $2.00 for shipping (even though Sam’s is offering free shipping for all photo items).
The cover stock is pretty thin and has a tooth kind of like construction paper. The book pages aren’t your high end photographic print, it’s a regular print like an Office Depot color laser. The inside pages are a little bit thin, less weight than the 8×8″ books from Costco. The print quality isn’t as good as those books. On the 8×8’s it is hard to see the halftone dot patterns, on these 6×8″s you can look close and see it in some textures.
But for $6.86 it’s not bad! This is pretty cost effective, since it would be much more to do this at home. It’s a cool freebie gift to throw in for friends and family.
