L&N All this happened in one day believe it or not! Thanks to Lalsi and Ngai for being such great models and willing to walk to get these shots. 😉 The Chin cultural attire is so lovely and I already have ideas for some spring shoots amidst the fruit tree blossoms.
Some fall photos from a drive to Westminster South Carolina, with some stops before and afterwards. So cold on this day.
I bought a really excellent condition Nikon D5300 and kit lens the other day. It was too cheap to pass up and after using the exif checker, this camera had only been used for about 4000 pictures. I thought it would be nice to have a simple light camera that has a flip out screen […]
Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead November 5, 2023 | Oakland Cemetery | Atlanta, GA My photos from the 2nd Annual Day of the Dead Festival at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. Great turnout, I believe thousands came to the event!
State of the leaves in our area on 10.24.2023. This fall is different (as usual). Most of the leaves are dull brown before the eventual bigger rush of color, but the wind and impending freezing temperatures will probably affect that too. Still though, very nice around town.
These are photos from last Friday (the 13th!) up in nearby South Carolina. This area might as well still be considered Georgia as it’s north of Toccoa and South of Clayton by about 30 minutes. Brasstown Falls (not to be confused with the highest point in Ga Brasstown Bald) is a really nice waterfall with […]
After the Cherokee parade we drove to nearby Sylva. It’s a really pretty town. On the way to WCU we passed by a Bojangles having a random Tuesday car meet! Ran into the gentleman that made the Wayne’s World Pacer that was in the Dragon Con parade a few weeks ago. It really is a […]
Cherokee Indian Parade October 3, 2023 | Cherokee, NC I will always love a parade. Whether it be the Mardi Gras parades, the UGA championship parade, Dragon Con parade, or even small town parades like this, they’re all great to me. On a random Tuesday the lovely community up in Cherokee North Carolina had their […]
So here are my “bonus” photos, a few shots with my Sigma SD14 and SD15. The SD14 was in infrared mode and the SD15 was normal color with a really cheap 70-300mm. It was definitely a challenge shooting these slow cameras/lenses alongside the normal easy Canon setup I had on Sunday. Again, I like ALL […]
Dia De MuertosOakland Cemetery | Atlanta, GA | November 6, 2022 The Day of the Dead festival was presented by Historic Oakland Foundation, Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, the Institute of Mexican Culture, Atlanta History Center, and the Office of the Government of Guanajuato in Georgia www.oaklandcemetery.com Main Stage: Oaxacan Folk Dancers “Euzkal”Catrinas & […]
The rain knocked down a lot of the leaves, but it’s still very pretty out there. With magical early morning light like this almost any camera would have worked, but I used my favorite Fall color camera the Nikon D50 and also a J1 and C Mount lens. I also shot film, Fuji Superia 400 […]
The Sigma SD10 is interesting in that the colors it produces is most like a normal DSLR from any of the other brands of the day (Pentax, Minolta, Nikon). The back LCD preview screen is “wrong” but it has an interesting reddish and violet color shift that is much more saturated than the resulting raw […]
A few images from before and after the photo shoot (previous post). Just driving around some of the backroads in Georgia and the main road from Highlands NC into Cashiers. Very nice and still some time before the whole mountainsides become yellow and orange. It got crazy cold down here in metro Atlanta this week […]
It was a lovely day for a “surprise” lunch photo shoot for these amazing ladies! Thanks for letting this guy come along on the last leg of y’all’s birthday weekend getaway up in the mountains. Lunch was at very picturesque Julep Farms and Kitchen up in Dillard, GA. It’s a bit south of the border […]
Thanks to Olivia, Nadia and Mena for the great collaborative senior photo shoot! It was really fun exploring and shooting in a totally new (to me) area. Crazy how two hours north of Atlanta can have such different color this early in October. Great job team! Here are a few photo highlights of our day, […]
Took a drive to Highlands North Carolina to take some portraits. It’s still green and uninspiring down here in Georgia, but as soon as I made the turn up into NC the leaves were almost peak! You can never predict the leaf season around Atlanta, but this year it’s a lot earlier. Anyways, here are […]
Random pictures from my location scouting around NE Georgia. This has been a very late fall!
Notes: I hope everyone is taking advantage of what might be the best season, Fall. It doesn’t last long here in Georgia, since as I write this, the colder temperatures and wind is tattering what is left of the colorful trees. When I was younger in college I used to drive around after classes just […]
Double Vision. 🙂
Last week of Fall colors here in Georgia. Smashing Pumpkins and Matthew Sweet is always on my soundtrack this time of year…
“…parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme…”
Landscapes around town, with a Nikon J1 and Fuji X100. Great lightweight cameras for walking around, and any imaging device can get pretty pictures if the light is right. All these photos taken early in the morning and brisk, about 36 degrees. The little J1’s high image quality doesn’t surprise me at all. Too many […]
Notes: Not that it ever matters, but Nikon, Sigma and Canon with various lenses for these images. See you out there…
