Band on the Run

Been a fun couple of months at “band practice.” These were some of the images leading up to our concert a few weeks ago.  Food, fun, french fries, and friends! 🙂

Pocket Cinema Camera and Resolve / More Random Grades

Notes: More random color grades from recent shoots.  Testing with the blending Nodes, which can act like layers in Photoshop.  So with BMPCC video, it’s possible to make your own soft focus screen effects.  One other thing I’ve been doing is really pushing the hues and saturations of the sky at sunset.  Not realistic, but sure […]

Caffeine and Octane – 7-6-2014 – In Infrared

Notes: Running out of ideas to shoot at the increasingly more crowded car show this month, so dusted off the infrared Sigma.  Black and white conversions with a Nikon Red filter as usual.  While it is fun to see the expensive and exotic machinery, I think it’s better as a social commentary about the relative […]

Buddha Bucha Temple – June 15, 2014

A really hot June Sunday at the Thai Temple in Decatur, with a gathering of 100+ monks for a rare ceremony, the consecration of the ubosot, and the burial of the 9 boundary stones. It was a full weekend, with Thai Classical dancing, alms giving, and free food for all prepared by many volunteers from Buddhist temples ranging from Ohio to Florida. Photos and Event Coverage by Boon Vong.

Model: Krista | Locations: Vines, Chattahoochee River, and Po’ Folks! 🙂

Caffeine and Octane – 6-1-2014

Notes:  Not too much to share here, just another quick outing at this month’s car show.  There was a gentleman there using a RED Epic Mysterium-X and clever use of a skate board dolly.  I just rolled with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, which in my opinion can crank out the same level of […]

MomoCon 2014

Portraits from this year’s great event. Most of the images with my “alternative” gear!

Azaleas

Notes: Just a colorful shoot from a few weeks back at my parent’s temple in Habersham.  Luckily there was this spot of wild azaleas near the entrance that I used for all of the photos.  This “Lao Heritage Month(s)” just keeps on rolling.  Mola Softlight beauty dish and natural light.  Tried for the first time, […]

APAC Banquet 2014

Asian Pacific American Council of Georgia Unity Banquet | Sonesta Hotel | Duluth, GA | May 3, 2014

Notes: Definitely the prettiest outfits belonged to the Cambodian dancers!

Flowery Branch

Any place works for photos, even sleepy small towns. 🙂

Murals

Just some spots around town, like the amazing 1970’s wall art behind the art store where I buy my fancy pens!

Calhoun Airport Photo Meet

Notes: More pix as I go through them.  Lots of machinery around, but I figured the outfits worked better in a more naturalistic, pretty setting.  Feel free to share.
