Notes: Quick shoot a day or so before he had to go back to Laos. Thanks to KP for letting us borrow his very nice (and $$) PRS guitar for the shoot. 😎 The same brand of guitar that Carlos Santana and other famous musicians use (or get for free). Makes me think about how […]
Notes: I never went to photojournalism school to learn my photography. So in that way, I don’t have the code in which most of those types of shooters live by, the presenting of images unedited, without personal bias. I don’t know if I could live by that photojournalistic prime directive. I guess you could say […]
Random Notes: All the times I’ve been to Louisiana, and I always thought New Iberia was only an hour and a half from New Orleans, where I usually stay. I goofed big time, as it is a looong 2.5 hour drive. This led to some crazy drowsy late night driving for me. On the actual […]
Laotian American Society | 6th Annual Charity Ball | November 20, 2010 Hi Team, I would like to thank everyone involved in the LAS Ball. Even though I looked liked I was stressed out (which I was…) I think overall it was our most impressive one yet, in the event’s 5+ year history. There is […]

The Lovett School | Atlanta, GA Notes: John Wood had a pretty comfy position at Microsoft ten years ago. While travelling through Nepal he visited a quaint school in the mountains and found their “library” was merely a filing cabinet with things left over from hikers and travelers. Apalled at this he vowed to return with more […]
Tech Notes: 24-105mm IS on the Canon, 70-200 VR on the Nikon, and infrared Sigma. Great combo. Maybe since I’ve been playing Final Fantasy XIII so much, with its 3 person fighting structure, figuring out tools for the bag is like setting up your characters for a battle. Cars and cameras are similar and oddly enough cameras are […]

Notes: Been a while since I posted anything Lao related…as you all know by now, I started off as the typical Lao kid holding the sign with his name in the refugee camp, was lucky enough to resettle in the good ol’ U S and A, grew up with two cultures, studied art, went back in time to right the […]

International Lao New Year Festival San Francisco, California | April 11, 2009 Presented by: Center for Lao Studies Laotian American National Alliance Lao Heritage Foundation Sabaidee Pii Mai!
A few weeks ago we went to visit our old sponsors. It’s something most Lao people are familiar with, having an American family adopt us or help bring us over from the refugee camps. Over time, we grew up and moved away, while most of them passed away.
