Took a “quick” daytrip to Murfreesboro for the last (finally!) Lao New Year of the season. Here are some fun moments before the rains came. The monsoon on the drive home to ATL was crazy!  Thanks to everyone for posing!

So that was a fun but short 3 hour stay in Murfreesboro TN.  Can’t believe I walked through all that mud in khakis and a white linen shirt unscathed! 🙂 Seriously though, glad we didn’t get stuck like many people.  That was the most rain I’ve ever experienced while driving down and up the mountain.

Dinner was back home in Doraville at Batavia Indonesian food!  They have dishes like: tripe and tendon curry, fried tilapia, and stir fried kankung bellacan, which is the straw vegetable we Lao people call “pak bong.”
