Thanks to Krista for coming out on another random Wednesday photo hangout!  Didn’t shoot too many portraits outside, as it has been 100 degrees in Atlanta this week.  I really would like the summer heat to calm down, but now we’re back to it raining out of nowhere everyday.

I am glad when the random colors I find out there in the wild match up to the clothes and people. The pastel colors were really working in harmony, from the hair highlights and the pink crepe myrtle blossoms to the random self serve cotton candy machine at the airport! Such a random location in between the bathrooms, and I already have some future ideas for film shots of it at blue hour.

Today I used briefly: D700 and 200mm f/2, R8 and 50mm f/1.2, and the A7 with the LA-EA4 and Minolta 28-80mm.  Here are the photos of our adventure, I edited the photos to focus on the color/contrast uniqueness of the various cameras.  Comparing them is tough, but obviously I’m always a fan of the color and contrast of Nikon D700 photos with the 200mm f/2.

 

 

 

The above and below images really surprised me as I was laying out this post.  The above is the Sony A7 and adapter and the below is the Canon R8 and 50mm f/1.2! Not bad for the first combo, I’ll have to remember that those two cameras get along in terms of look.

The Nikon D700 and 200mm f/2 just hits harder for sure.  The images when properly edited look tailor made for glossy metallic prints.

Obviously grew up obsessed with Nirvana, but this Taylor Swift magazine was only $1.99 so I had to get it.  Seriously, magazines are one of the last bastions of high quality edited work.  Next to scripted tv shows, magazines still have top notch curated visuals.  You can learn a lot from the images that grace covers and the rest of the pages.  Social media does have its own charm in its realness, but printed photos in any form just look different and better in my opinion.
