It’s been many moons since I’ve done separate single posts of “model” shoots here. Those are still quite popular on the ol youtube and web of course, posed photos of pretty people with some new lens or latest camera involved. I think at some point I just enjoyed the randomness of the hang outs I was lucky enough to share with friends, and if I got pictures fine, if not, no need to go all crazy getting “content” that no one’s going to view anyway. Since it’s cold in Georgia now, and no one definitely wants to get out there, I decided to go back and re edit some of my old cozy indoor photos. Some of them straight up from the jpeg–gasp I know!
If I was into selling presets, I’d probably name this one Couch Vibes. Sadly though I’m sure much money has been spent and wasted on those silly slider adjustments. The main look of these come from the Arri fresnel tungsten lights (thanks ladies for putting up with the heat and blinding, but pure, golden light!) and lots of manual photoshop editing and curves+HSL adjustments. And speaking of vibes there’s an old ATB song called “Beach Vibes.” It starts off a bit odd on the notes of the guitar but the song slowly comes together, as all his ambient melodic trance songs. That particular one has been a companion to driving and editing for many years now.
I would love to add these filmic vibes and tones into every edit, but man is it time consuming. It’s already a long workflow to finish up my event recaps of 300+ images. But yes, I’ve been a fan of low contrast imperfect images as much as the high contrast colorful ones you normally see a lot here on my site.
