Vintage Pentax Takumar Lenses: 135mm f/2.5 and 50mm f/1.4 Samples

Hi everyone, just quick posts while we are trying to get through another hot Georgia summer.  These next few posts will be gear oriented, me showing off what has recently been thrifted or gifted! That and finally revisiting camera+lens combos that I’ve had on the to-do list for quite sometime.

This post is about a very nice looking Pentax Honeywell Spotmatic with two great lenses: a Super Multi Coated Takumar 135mm f/2.5 and a SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4

Who knows where the previous owner took this camera outfit and the things they saw, but I’m glad to have it in my own photo journey.  I’ve used and tested both of these lenses and sure the glass isn’t pristine since they are probably 50+ years old but the rendering is very nice.  I’ve adapted these M42 screw mount lenses very easily to Fuji X APS-C and Sony FF.

Here are a bunch of product shots to give some respect to the tools of a different era, when photography was so much harder.

To get these lenses to work on my Sony’s I have to use an M42 to Canon EF to Sony E adapter.  Still works great for slow paced photography.
