Grand Canyon, Arizona – Pt. 7

It was pretty cold and windy that day at the Grand Canyon.  On the drive there I couldn’t help but wonder about the people living on the outskirts of the park in modest homes.  You drive for hours and come across a lone Burger King or a gas station.  Here we have to take into account traffic every hour of the day, but I wonder what life could be like out there in the west.  Much like everything though, there’s levels. I was reading that there’s a village (Supai) deep down near the base that’s only accessible by helicopter or foot. For years and years somebody would carry parcels and supplies with pack mules/donkeys on a daily route that took hours.  That’s insane to think about.

Also, it does rain in the desert–it was colder in Flagstaff and even snowed on the drive out.
