What a great event for the Hmong community last Saturday. There were free snacks and lunch for guests, and most importantly, free school supplies and a focus on the importance of education. Almost all the vendors were small Hmong owned businesses with lots of cool products and merch. This event is starting to look like a mini festival!
After being out of the non profit space for quite some time now, I still see all the hard work and time put into events and things like this by the organizers and volunteers. Everything from brick establishments like the Clarkston Community Center, to LAS, to HWRA. It’s definitely a lot of work, and contributing to uplifting a community, or promoting it through the beauty of cultural dress and dance hopefully provides the spark needed to keep things going. Hopefully my photos still show the joy in the final result and the diverse faces that make up our multicultural community here in Georgia and the US.
