Another Design Project I gave myself, make some “fake” Fashion Magazines! Again, all the photos and design by me, shamelessly copying the elegant and simple magazines I thumbed through when I was younger.
I hope everyone is doing okay during the pandemic and quarantine. I renewed the domain name and hosting for my website the other day, and realized I’ve had it for 17 years now. Crazy. In all that time never thought the world would be under these unique circumstances. Anyways, I’ve been giving myself different creative […]
Well, with all that’s going on in the world right now, at least it’s looking really pretty out there… 🙃

March 7. 2020 | Monroe, GA It sure was brisk this morning for the volleyball tournament, but glad I got up early and made it out to Monroe. Everyone was competitive and the spikes were serious. Hopefully this is the last cold day for “winter” in Georgia, as the spring forward time switch is Sunday. […]
Congrats to the Chin Burmese Community of Atlanta for organizing such a fun event! This was my first time attending, as I’ve missed it every single year. It was really neat to be able to document this for one of the newest refugee immigrant communities here in Atlanta. I started off life in the U.S. […]
One way I get through our wacky Georgia winters is that I mess around with my various oddball camera and lens combos. The Nikon 105mm 1.4E is my main portrait lens that lives on my Nikon bodies, but for this quick Sunday hangout, I thought it would be fun to see what it can do […]
I’ve had a couple of these ~$35 LED lights in my bag for a few years now, but never thought to do a post about them. Back many years ago, when we made/converted a ceiling light into a panel, it was a novel and simple idea, but the technology has definitely improved and come down […]
The weather here in Georgia can be so weird. After 70 degree days, rain, and floods, we had a short but amazing snowfall on the morning of Sat February 8, 2020! Luckily none of it turned to ice on the roads and we got a nice backdrop for yet another spontaneous photo/food adventure!
Big thanks to Sigma Japan for listing me next to other talented creatives that use Sigma cameras and lenses! (I screen captured the Japanese language one because it looks so cool!) 🙂 Here’s the link to the english version: https://www.sigma-sein.com/en/neighbors/BoonVong/

TEA Walk | October 12, 2019 | Doraville, GA Hosted and Organized by CPACSCenter for Pan Asian Community Services Here’s another event from last year that I finally got around to editing/posting. These were the photos I managed to get before running off to something else! 😉
I am finally getting around to editing my Dragon Con photos (5 months later!) 😀 That was it for a fun first day! Dinner was Naan and Curry!! Day 2 (the Parade) Pictures coming up next!
Here are the actual images shot with the combo pictured above: Totally unrelated to the above, but here are some examples from figure drawing in Alpharetta the other night (also shot with the 35mm on the RP). I’m really out of practice, and jumped into drawing without even holding a piece of charcoal for like […]
Hello everyone, this is the first time I’ve done this, which is a super long chronological photo blog about the year 2019. I didn’t want to call it “Best of…” because most of the images that I picked weren’t the typical moody/artistic/semi-pretentious modeling portraits! 😉 No, I chose the ones that were a bit off, […]
Just a quick and short post. I ordered a Gutty Nikon G lens to Canon RF adapter the other day from Amazon. It’s pretty good for less than $20! The build quality is very sturdy and feels much more expensive than the low price. In the past ten+ years I’ve used several mechanical D lens […]
Saturday December 7, 2019 So we got up early on Saturday and drove to New Orleans, which is about 3 hours from Pensacola. On the way off I-10 is this humongous gas station called Buc-Cee’s! Their little beaver mascot is on everything. My breakfast, Naked Mango juice and chicken salad in a croissant, which was […]
Thursday December 5, 2019 Late Autumn mornings in Georgia are somewhat brisk with pretty, but short sunrises. This is from my backyard. We left around 8:30am Atlanta time. Both the NCR and CODA buildings are quite nice, I’m sure they’ll film some movies there one day. We made it to Pensacola, FL around 3:30 our […]
December 9, 2019 Lunch @ I Luv Hot Pot | Duluth, GA It was another fun evening down here in Atlanta. I missed the Miss Universe Pageant this past weekend, but it was very nice to cover this farewell gathering and have bookends to a pretty neat experience for our Lao community. Big thanks to […]
Bonus Black and White Photos from the Sigma Foveon sensor:

So I’ve had the Canon EOS RP for 9 months now. I think that’s enough time to give a pretty good opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of this camera. I’ve found that you really have to “live” with a camera or lens combo for a good long time to figure out what it’s best […]
It’s been a weird year for Fall color down here in Georgia in 2019. First the cold snap turned all the leaves brown. Last year, my yellow Japanese Maple and red Japanese Maple made it into many photos. This year, they pretty much gave up. This morning, 11-23-19, Midtown Atlanta was looking pretty nice in […]
Gosh, it’s been ten years since Seng Merrill loaned me her Sigma SD14 and a couple of lenses. I’d like to thank her for the faith in a young artist/photographer, and of course thank her late husband Dick Merrill for being one of the architects of the unique Foveon sensor design. I’ve had great fun […]
