versatile as the 105mm 2.8 VR Micro for portraits, definitely not as sharp wide open, and the minimum focus distance is limiting, but the bokeh is\u00a0quite &#8220;painterly.&#8221;\u00a0 DOF is so shallow at 1.4 that you can definitely &#8220;buzz&#8221; a person in random snapshots.\u00a0 Photos for web use are\u00a0fine, but large prints might bother some.\u00a0 Blurring of the background can be better achieved with a longer telephoto like the 70-200 f\/2.8, but obviously this lens shines with the out of focus elements.\u00a0 A mundane scene like a gas station or\u00a0traffic lights makes
