Hello everyone I put together a collection of Portraits and Food photos taken with the Canon EF 50mm f\/1.2L<\/a>.\u00a0 A lens that many wedding and portrait photographers have in their kit.\u00a0 There are so many new mirrorless 50mm f\/1.2 options with their own modern sharpness benefits and the associated premium price hike, but this older one is still great for the types of photography that I do.\u00a0 Even if it has too much character (optical flaws) for some people.\u00a0 Plus it works with older cameras that are definitely still viable.<\/p>\n

The Canon EF (the older film and DSLR version) 50mm f\/1.2L is an interesting lens.\u00a0 As is all 50mm lenses.\u00a0 If you’ve been into photography for even a little amount of time you’ve probably gone through a lot of different nifty fiftys.\u00a0 This Canon one though was\/is still pretty expensive so it’s natural for many to ask if it’s worth it.<\/p>\n

There are so so many 50mm lenses are there.\u00a0 Some work better on different sensors and film stock.\u00a0 It really is a matter of assembling that right combination to find an endgame setup for your budget and your work.\u00a0 I know in my now decades long photography journey (has it really been that long?)\u00a0 I can summarize my own experiences with random 50mm’s pretty quick:<\/p>\n
