After tinkering with the broken Nikon 35-70mm on the GFX I replaced it with a Nikon 35-80mm instead! And you know, it’s actually pretty good on the GFX at small apertures for landscapes and slow photography.  You have to zoom in just a bit to cover the FF+ sensor.  Not bad for such an affordable lens. It has noticeable barrel distortion, but that can be fixed in the Fuji RAW converter. The main strength is that it projects a sharp image at f\/8-f\/11 onto the sensor, so you can further edit the colors and tones to Fujifilm levels.  (The more I use the RAW EX converter with the Silkypix engine, the more I like it.)<\/p>\n

Photography kits are like teams in Tekken Tag or Marvel vs. Capcom, almost endless variations. Though I’m not a TCG player, I’m sure the same thing applies to that fandom as well.  Just so many ways to produce a photograph, and these combos keep things interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a fit point of view, I think the Nikon lens looks good on the GFX. The lens reminds me of the design language of car interiors of the era, and even things like Darth Vader’s suit. Too bad modern lenses have lost the vintage look, with all the different colored typefaces and ridges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some results from a very cheap lens on an expensive camera body.  The full view at 100% on my editing station is plenty sharp!<\/p>\n
