It was pretty cold and windy that day at the Grand Canyon.\u00a0 On the drive there I couldn’t help but wonder about the people living on the outskirts of the park in modest homes.\u00a0 You drive for hours and come across a lone Burger King or a gas station.\u00a0 Here we have to take into account traffic every hour of the day, but I wonder what life could be like out there in the west.\u00a0 Much like everything though, there’s levels. I was reading that there’s a village (Supai) deep down near the base that’s only accessible by helicopter or foot. For years and years somebody would carry parcels and supplies with pack mules\/donkeys on a daily route that took hours.\u00a0 That’s insane to think about.<\/p>\n

Also, it does rain in the desert–it was colder in Flagstaff and even snowed on the drive out.<\/p>\n
