<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It was a long day, but it ended nicely, with dinner at the hotel.\u00a0 FB asked me to translate for him while he caught up with his best friend, Mr. BL, a man whom he met back in the late 60’s, when\u00a0FB was an educational advisor for the U.S.\u00a0 He was dismayed at the influx of refugees, and after interviewing some, found the plight of the bombing victims to be a life changing event.\u00a0 Mr. BL was the man that gathered the bombing survivor drawings, snuck them out underneath his clothes and also helped FB gather stories and testimonies from the refugees.\u00a0 It was cool to be able to share in the memories of a time you don’t read about in the history books.\u00a0 FB had some old ABC footage with him, black and white grainy film of his time in Laos, when he was a\u00a0young man that spoke fluent Lao.<\/p>\n
