Summer Camp

H.A.G.S!
(Have a Great Summer!)

Thanks to LAS for again organizing the Kid’s mini summer camp.  Also thanks to Wat Lao Buddhakhanti for allowing us the space to teach and play.

Day 5: Photography and Skating

For the last day I wanted to give the students hands on experience in photography, and I almost had enough cameras for everyone. 🙂 First introduction was basically the differences between point and shoot imaging devices and real cameras.  I had the students pick an SLR of their choice and also a partner and use the temple grounds as a backdrop.

Material List:
-Nikon DSLR with wide angle to medium lens, and wireless remote speedlight capability
-Nikon DSLR with a macro lens
-Canon DSLR with a manual focus normal lens
-Infrared Sigma DSLR with an ultrawide lens

All the cameras except the strobist setup I put on manual focus to make the students take a bit more time in composing their photographs.  The images below are what they came up with, with slight processing by me.
