Blind Emboss Letterpress

This year I’ve been getting back into things I liked doing in the past.  I can also see how technology has progressed in that particular field.  This week I decided to get back into print making, thinking it would be cool to make my own business cards, stationary, and other custom things with a bit more handmade appeal.  The linoleum and EZ carve experience didn’t go well, but in my wanderings around the web and on the roads, it led me to the world of custom Letterpress templates and an eye opening trip to the scrapbooking store.  Yes, scrapbooking. My sentimental tendencies and lost in the clouds waste of a life has finally landed me to this end of the road. 😉

I scanned my artwork in Illustrator and outputted a test blank filled with random designs. Amazing how the film can hold the same amount of detail as a laser print.

I tried making my own die and tool, to see if I could do both emboss and deboss.

Maybe these could be used as an added touch for a future thank you card.
