Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival 2018 Photos

Thanks to the new members on the LAS team for pulling together for a 6th place finish overall, out of a crazy number of entrants this year.  Thanks to the Hong Kong Association and festival organizers for letting us (the Lao and Southeast Asian community here in Georgia) showcase our culture and spirit as well!  Great job to the LACSGA Dancers, Souliya Dance group from Habersham County, the LAS dance team, as well as the other multicultural performers.  Glad to be a part of this fun family event, which we first started attending in 2005!  Join us next year, always after Labor Day!

Tech Notes: I used 3 Nikon cameras today, a Df with a 35mm, D600 and 105mm 1.4E, and a J1 with a 70-200mm 2.8 and FT1 adapter.  Even though Nikon discontinued the J1/V1 system, it still produces great results in this situation.  All of the up close boat shots are from that combo.  It’s a shame the 1″ ILC system was marketed poorly with no real push on its strengths and advantages.  8 Years later and the upcoming Nikon Z7 and Z6 will hopefully right those wrongs.  Nikon USA, please bring some demo units to the Atlanta area.
